Philadelphia 27, Atlanta 14 Team Trench Counter: Eagles +13.6, Falcons -13.6 The Philadelphia Eagles (4-3) allowed the Atlanta Falcons (4-3) to take a 7-0 lead but rallied to win relatively easily at Lincoln Financial Field. Donovan McNabb went 19-for-34 with 253 passing yards and had 25 rushing yards and a touchdown, his first since 2006, in the victory. Brian Westbrook, who was returning from a pair of fractured ribs, starred for the Eagles. He had 209 total yards (167 rushing and 42 receiving) and two rushing touchdowns against Atlanta. Rookie Matt Ryan, who is a native of the Philadelphia area, went 23-for-33 with 277 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Roddy White continues to be Ryan?s favorite target; he caught eight passes for 113 yards and two scores in the loss. Michael Turner had some troubles against the Eagles? rush defense, tallying just 58 yards on seventeen carries (including a 22-yard run). N.Y. Jets 28, Kansas City 24 Team Trench Counter: Jets +0.3, Chiefs -0.3 Brett Favre tossed a ton of interceptions, but the New York Jets (4-3) were still able to down the struggling Kansas City Chiefs (1-6) on Sunday. Favre went 28-for-40 with 290 yards, two touchdowns, and the three aforementioned picks. Laveranues Coles (7 catches, 64 yards) and Leon Washington (3 catches, 34 yards) were the beneficiaries of Favre?s touchdown strikes. Washington and Thomas Jones combined to rush for 121 yards and two scores in the win while New York?s defense sacked Tyler Thigpen four times. Thigpen played well for Kansas City, going 25-for-35 with 280 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. Jamaal Charles and Kolby Smith combined to tally 60 rushing yards on sixteen carries in the absence of the suspended Larry Johnson. Dwayne Bowe caught six passes for 102 yards while Tony Gonzalez and Mark Bradley connected with Thigpen in the end zone. Chiefs' rookie cornerback Brandon Flowers intercepted Favre twice, the first takeaways of his career. New Orleans 37, San Diego 32 Team Trench Counter: Saints +5.4, Chargers -5.4 The New Orleans Saints (4-4) defeated the San Diego Chargers (3-5) on Sunday at London?s Wembley Stadium. Drew Brees went 30-for-41 with 339 yards and three touchdowns in the victory, as the Saints won without Reggie Bush. Deuce McAllister had 55 rushing yards and a touchdown on eighteen attempts while Pierre Thomas added 28 yards in the win. Brees ran into his own end zone for a safety with less than ten seconds left on the clock in a strategic move by coach Sean Payton that paid off. Philip Rivers was nearly as good as Brees, but an interception ended up costing the Chargers. Rivers went 25-for-40 with 341 yards, three touchdowns, and the turnover. LaDainian Tomlinson, who said during the week that San Diego needed to run more, rushed for 105 yards on nineteen carries in the loss. He also caught five passes for 65 yards and a score while Antonio Gates and Vincent Jackson also had receiving touchdowns overseas. New England 23, St. Louis 16 Team Trench Counter: Patriots +7, Rams -7 Matt Cassel struggled, but the New England Patriots (5-2) still knocked off the St. Louis Rams (2-5) at Gillette Stadium on Sunday. Cassel went 21-for-33 with 267 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the victory while Kevin Faulk and BenJarvus Green-Ellis combined to rush for 76 yards and a touchdown in the victory. Randy Moss, who appears to finally be gelling well with Cassel, caught seven passes for 102 yards. New England's defense was able to break through and sack Marc Bulger four times. Bulger went 18-for-34 with 301 yards, one touchdown, and an interception. Without Steven Jackson, who sat out with a thigh injury, Antonio Pittman ran for 83 yards on nineteen carries. Rookie receiver Donnie Avery had a career day, catching six passes for 163 yards and scoring in the loss. The loss ended a two-game win streak for the Rams, who began the season with four-straight losses. Miami 25, Buffalo 16 Team Trench Counter: Dolphins +11.6, Bills -11.6 The Miami Dolphins (3-4) notched a key win over a divisional rival on Sunday after downing the Buffalo Bills (5-2) in South Beach. Chad Pennington went 22-for-30 with 314 yards and a touchdown while Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams combined for 59 rushing yards and a score in the victory. Ted Ginn Jr. enjoyed a spectacular afternoon, catching seven passes for 175 yards against the stifling Buffalo secondary. Trent Edwards went 21-for-35 with 227 yards and an interception since a majority of the Bills' offense came on the ground. Marshawn Lynch had 61 yards and a touchdown, and Fred Jackson added another 41 yards in the loss. Lee Evans had another big day, catching seven passes for 116 yards, but he wasn?t able to find the end zone. The Bills lost three fumbles, stalling drives on multiple occasions. With the loss, the Bills are now tied with the Patriots for first-place in the AFC East. Washington 25, Detroit 17 Team Trench Counter: Redskins +10.4, Lions -10.4 The Washington Redskins (6-2) defeated the Detroit Lions (0-7) in a surprisingly close battle at Ford Field on Sunday. Jason Campbell went 23-for-28 with 328 yards and a touchdown while Clinton Portis rushed for 126 yards on twenty-four carries. Shaun Alexander, who made his Redskins' debut on Week Seven against Cleveland, had just 11 yards on six carries. Santana Moss caught nine passes for 140 yards and a score and also ran a punt back 80 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Dan Orlovsky, making his third-straight start for the winless Lions, went 21-for-35 with 223 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Rudi Johnson and Kevin Smith had just 33 yards and a touchdown between them while Orlovsky added 17 yards on a pair of carries himself. Shaun McDonald caught five passes for 68 yards while Calvin Johnson grabbed four balls for 57 yards and a touchdown. Johnson has now caught four touchdowns in his last five games. Dallas 13, Tampa Bay 9 Team Trench Counter: Cowboys +2.4, Buccaneers -2.4 The Dallas Cowboys (5-3) got back on track Sunday against the Tampa Buccaneers (5-3) in a very hard fought game. Brad Johnson went 19-for-33 with 122 yards and a touchdown in the win while Marion Barber carried the ball twenty-five times for 71 yards. Terrell Owens led the Cowboys in receiving with five catches for 33 yards. After Johnson threw three interceptions in Week Seven?s loss to the Rams, Wade Phillips limited him to immediate throws against Tampa Bay. Jeff Garcia went 27-for-43 with 227 yards in the loss, failing to throw a touchdown after a huge game against the Seahawks last Sunday night. The Dallas defense limited Earnest Graham, who rushed seventeen times, for just 42 yards. Running back Clifton Smith caught just one pass for 13 yards and lost a fumble, the only turnover of the game. Carolina 27, Arizona 23 Team Trench Counter: Panthers +7.3, Cardinals -7.3 The Carolina Panthers (6-2) outlasted the Arizona Cardinals (4-3) at Bank of American Stadium this weekend. Jake Delhomme went 20-for-28 with 248 yards and two touchdowns in the win while DeAngelo Williams exploded for 108 rushing yards and a score, as well. Jonathan Stewart had just 10 yards on eight carries against Arizona. Steve Smith was the beneficiary of both of Delhomme?s touchdown strikes as he caught five passes for 117 yards to move the Panthers into first place in the NFC South. Kurt Warner aired it out once again, going 35-for-49 with 381 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Edgerrin James, who complained this week about his lack of touches, ran for 17 yards on seven carries and lost a fumble in the defeat. Larry Fitzgerald caught seven passes from Warner for 115 yards, and Anquan Boldin, who returned for the first time since fracturing his sinus in Week Four against the Jets, grabbed nine balls for 63 yards and two trips to the end zone. Baltimore 29, Oakland 10 Team Trench Counter: Ravens +6.4, Raiders -6.4 The Baltimore Ravens (4-3) jumped out to a 19-0 lead against the Oakland Raiders (2-5) on Sunday and never looked back. Rookie Joe Flacco went 12-for-24 with 140 yards and a touchdown, a 70-yard strike to Demetrius Williams in the second quarter. Flacco also ran in a 12-yard score in the fourth that put the game away for good. Ray Rice, Willis McGahee, and Le?Ron McClain helped Baltimore dominate on the ground, rushing for 154 yards and scoring a touchdown against Oakland?s defense. JaMarcus Russell was 15-for-33 with 228 yards, a touchdown, and an interception for the Raiders. Without Darren McFadden, Oakland struggled on the ground. Justin Fargas and Michael Bush combined to run for just 32 yards on seventeen carries in the loss. Rookie receiver Chaz Schilens had the best game of his young career against the Ravens, catching three passes for 76 yards. Russell was sacked four times while Flacco went untouched. Houston 35, Cincinnati 6 Team Trench Counter: Texans +18.4, Bengals -18.4 The Cincinnati Bengals (0-8) remain winless after getting beaten soundly by the Houston Texans (3-4) at Reliant Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Matt Schaub went 24-for-28 with 280 yards and three touchdowns while rookie Steve Slaton had 53 yards and a touchdown on fifteen carries in the victory. Schaub hooked up with Kevin Walter (five catches for 70 yards) twice and David Anderson (two catches for 28 yards) once in the end zone while connecting with Andre Johnson on eleven occasions for 143 yards. Jacoby Jones got the Texans on the board with a 73-yard punt return early in the first quarter. Ryan Fitzpatrick struggled once again, going 20-for-32 with 155 yards and a pair of interceptions in the team?s eighth-straight loss. Cedric Benson had 49 rushing yards, while Fitzpatrick added 42 yards on seven carries himself. T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad ?Ocho Cinco? Johnson combined for thirteen receptions and 98 receiving yards, but couldn?t reach the end zone against Houston. In addition to his two interceptions, Fitzpatrick also lost a fumble as he accounted for all of Cincinnati?s turnovers. Cleveland 23, Jacksonville 17 Team Trench Counter: Browns +5.4, Jaguars -5.4 The Cleveland Browns (3-4) are just one win away from .500 after holding off the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-4) in Florida on Sunday afternoon. Derek Anderson went 14-for-27 with 246 yards and a touchdown while Jamal Lewis had one of his best games of the season with 81 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Braylon Edwards caught two passes for 64 yards while tight end Steven Heiden, who was filling in for Kellen Winslow, led the team with three receptions for 73 yards. Donte Stallworth, who had three catches for just 13 yards, was the recipient of Anderson?s only touchdown pass. David Garrard, who had a very Garrard-like stat line, went 25-for-42 with 283 yards and two touchdowns in the close loss. Garrard added 59 rushing yards on seven carries while Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor had just 53 yards between them. Matt Jones led Jacksonville with eight catches for 117 yards and a touchdown, including a 35-yard reception that kept the Jaguars? hopes alive in the final seconds. Seattle 34, San Francisco 13 Team Trench Counter: Seahawks +4.7, 49ers -4.7 Seneca Wallace improved mightily over his performance against the Buccaneers last Sunday as he led the Seattle Seahawks (2-5) to an emphatic win over the San Francisco 49ers (2-6) at Candlestick Park. Wallace went 15-for-25 with 222 yards and two touchdowns, both connections with fullback Leonard Weaver, who had four catches for 116 yards. Maurice Morris and Weaver had problems on the ground, combining for 29 yards on thirteen carries, but Seahawks got all they needed on offense. J.T. O?Sullivan went 13-for-21 with 131 yards and an interception and was benched by new coach Mike Singletary after his eleventh fumble of the season. Shaun Hill replaced O?Sullivan and went 15-for-23 with 173 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Hill also rushed for twenty yards on two carries while Frank Gore added 94 yards on the ground and 65 receiving yards in the team?s fifth-straight loss. Seattle managed to record five sacks en route to their first win in four tries. N.Y. Giants 21, Pittsburgh 14 Team Trench Counter: Giants +7.8, Steelers -7.8 The New York Giants (6-1) scored twelve points in the fourth quarter on their way to a comeback win over the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) at Heinz Field. Eli Manning went 19-for-32 with 199 yards and a touchdown, while Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward had 84 rushing yards on thirty-one carries in the difficult win. Kevin Boss, who had four catches for 34 yards, was the recipient of Manning?s only scoring pass. Plaxico Burress, who was held out of the starting lineup after missing a treatment for his injured neck on Saturday, had just three catches for 15 yards. Ben Roethlisberger had his worst game of the season, going 13-for-29 with 189 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions against New York?s ball-hawking defense. The Steelers were without Santonio Holmes, who was deactivated for the game after being arrested for drug possession last week. Mewelde Moore continued his hot streak in relief of the injured Willie Parker, running for 84 yards and a touchdown. Nate Washington caught just one pass, a 65-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter. Rookie Limas Sweed caught three balls for 28 yards in just his second appearance. Tennessee 31, Indianapolis 21 Team Trench Counter: Titans +3.1, Colts -3.1 The Tennessee Titans (7-0) remained unbeaten on Monday night after an impressive win over the rival Indianapolis Colts (3-4). Kerry Collins was more than good enough, going 24-for-37 with 193 yards, while Chris Johnson and LenDale White took care of business on the ground. Johnson had 77 yards and a touchdown and White added two scores and thirteen yards in the victory. Tennessee's defense also pestered Peyton Manning, forcing two interceptions. Manning went 26-for-41 with 223 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss. Dominic Rhodes had 70 yards on seventeen carries, and Chad Simpson added 23 yards on four carries in the absence of Joseph Addai. Dallas Clark broke out, catching seven passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns, but the Colts struggled in key situations and couldn't stop the Titans' attack in the second half. Indianapolis led 14-6 midway through the third, but Tennessee rallied to score 25-straight points en route to victory. *Explaining The Trench Counter

Cardinals' receiver Anquan Boldin caught nine passes for 63 yards and a pair of touchdowns in his return to the field on Sunday. Arizona lost to Carolina, 27-23, but got Boldin back. The receiver hadn't played since Week Four, when he suffered a sinus fracture after taking a hit from New York's Eric Smith in the end zone.

Penn State defeated Ohio State, 13-6, on Saturday night to remain unbeaten (9-0) this season. The No. 3 Nittany Lions scored ten points in the fourth quarter to overcome a 6-3 deficit. Evan Royster rushed nineteen times for 77 yards in the win, while Daryll Clark went 12-for-20 with 120 passing yards. Fullback Dan Lawlor scored the only touchdown of the game, a 1-yard run midway through the fourth. Terrelle Pryor went 16-for-28 with 228 passing yards and an interception, which he threw with less than a minute remaining in the game. No. 1 Texas knocked off No. 6 Oklahoma State, while No. 2 Alabama took care of Tennessee.

Pittsburgh Steelers: 10.0 An absolute drubbing of the lowly Bengals on Sunday allowed the Steelers to leapfrog the Giants and idle Eagles to take over the top spot. 2. New York Giants: 9.7 At times the Giants looked flustered against the 49ers, and even though they still won soundly, it wasn?t enough to hold off the surging Steelers. 3. Philadelphia Eagles: 8.8 The Eagles dropped a spot as they sat at home and watched the action from home. A win over the Falcons this weekend could launch them into the top spot with Pittsburgh and New York facing off. 4. Washington Redskins: 7.3 For the second-straight week there are three NFC East teams in the top four. Washington?s win over Cleveland wasn?t pretty (14-11), but they got the job done and continue to impress. 5. Tennessee Titans: 6.7 The undefeated Titans have entered the top-five, but their yards per completion average of 6.28 is among the league?s worst. Kerry Collins manages a great game for Jeff Fisher, but they?ll eventually need more out of his arm. 6. Atlanta Falcons: 5.0 If the Falcons want to move up in the rankings next week they?ll have to beat the Eagles in Philadelphia and continue dominating on the ground. 7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 4.9 The Bucs are the sixth-straight NFC team in this week?s rankings thanks to their dominant, but ugly, win over the Seahawks on Sunday night. Their +4 takeaway differential has been the key to their success. 8. Carolina Panthers: 3.9 The Panthers moved up four spots, thanks to their impressive victory over the division rival Saints. Carolina dominated on the ground, and Jake Delhomme had one of his best passing games of the season. 9. Buffalo Bills: 3.5 The Bills, just the second AFC team in the top-ten, cut down the high-powered Chargers in Buffalo this past weekend. They collected a number of turnovers, three by Philip Rivers, and moved up six spots because of it. 10. Minnesota Vikings: 3.3 Both the Vikings and Bears should be embarrassed after their 48-41 shootout. Neither team played well, but Minnesota probably would have won (despite Gus Frerotte?s four picks) if they hadn?t messed up on special teams. 11. Miami Dolphins: 3.2 The wildcat formation is no longer a secret in Miami, and with Buffalo on the schedule this weekend, the Dolphins could slide down further. 12. Dallas Cowboys: 2.1 The Cowboys dropped five spots and saw their average trench counter fall from 4.8 to 2.1, thanks to a listless performance against the Rams. With Tony Romo on the sideline they can still win games, but will their statistics suffer? 13. Baltimore Ravens: 1.9 Joe Flacco will need to cut down on the interceptions if the Ravens are going to challenge in the AFC North. 14. Arizona Cardinals: 1.9 The idle Cardinals sit exactly where they did after Week 6, but in order to improve heading into the season?s midpoint, they?ll need to play extremely well against the tough Panthers. 15. Chicago Bears: 1.7 I already mentioned that horrific Chicago/Minnesota game, so I?ll focus on what the Bears need to do in order to move up this list. Getting more than 3.6 yards per carry would be a start? 16. San Diego Chargers: 1.4 The Chargers came unglued in Buffalo posting their second negative TC in three weeks. If Rivers is more careful with the football, they should see the top-ten in a few weeks. 17. New York Jets: 0.5 The honeymoon is over for Brett Favre and the Jets. The quarterback has one touchdown and four interceptions in the team?s last two games. 18. New England Patriots: 0.4 A little Monday night magic launched the Patriots from -4.2 to 0.4 in just a week?s time. Matt Cassel won?t have another game like the one he did against the Broncos, but Bill Belichick now knows what his quarterback can handle. 19. Green Bay Packers: 0.0 Seven weeks into the season and the Packers have absolutely nothing to show for it. Actually, that?s far from the truth. They are just a very average football team right now. 20. New Orleans Saints: -1.0 The Saints will struggle on offense without Reggie Bush, but they should be able to get out of the red if Drew Brees rekindles his relationship with Marques Colston down field. 21. San Francisco 49ers: -2.3 Mike Singletary says that this team has something special, but can the new coach unearth their supposed excellence? 22. Houston Texans: -2.4 The Texans narrowly held off the Lions after jumping out to a huge lead on Sunday. Look for another early lead with the winless Bengals are coming to town in Week Eight. 23. Denver Broncos: -2.4 The Broncos have dropped six spots, thanks to their performance in New England. A loss is one thing, but the injured finger of Jay Cutler could be another. 24. Jacksonville Jaguars: -2.8 Who would have thought that the Jaguars would be in the bottom half of the league in yards per carry? 25. Indianapolis Colts: -2.8 Things are about as bad in Indianapolis as they ever have been since Peyton Manning arrived in town. Their horrid run game, compounded by a weak offensive line, will need to improve ? fast. 26. Cleveland Browns: -5.6 I hate to say it just six games into the season, but the Browns are officially the league?s biggest bust. They are horrible in most facets of the game, but Derek Anderson?s 62.9 quarterback rating is the most glaring disappointment. 27. Seattle Seahawks: -8.7 To be completely honest, I?m very surprised that the Seahawks have an average trench counter as high as -8.7. They look, to steal words from Mike Holmgren, like a high school football team. 28. Oakland Raiders: -8.8 Tom Cable got the Raiders a win on Sunday, and JaMarcus Russell looks ready to handle more of the offense. If Cable trusts his quarterback, Oakland?s below-average passing attack could thrive. 29. Cincinnati Bengals: -9.5 The Bengals are absolutely horrific on offense right now, but more carries for Cedric Benson could keep Marvin Lewis in town a little longer. 30. St. Louis Rams: -10.1 Back-to-back wins over NFC East opponents have lifted the Rams out of last place and up a few rungs on the basement steps. If the Patriots remain hot, St. Louis could be back at the bottom next week. 31. Kansas City Chiefs: -10.5 Herm Edwards? quarterbacks have a 58.6 combined QB rating and are averaging just 5.10 yards per pass. 32. Detroit Lions: -10.6 The Lions have played better in the last two weeks, but their early-season struggles are still plaguing their trench counter ranking.

Giants 29, San Francisco 17 Team Trench Counter: Giants +12.3, 49ers -12.3 The New York Giants (5-1) used a strong second half to distance themselves from the San Francisco 49ers (2-5) in East Rutherford on Sunday. Brandon Jacobs led the Giants? offense with 69 rushing yards and two touchdowns while Eli Manning went 16-for-31 with 161 yards and a touchdown. A number of 49ers? turnovers gave New York good field position, which they capitalized on to take control of the game. J.T. O?Sullivan was sacked six times, going 16-for-28 with 256 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He also lost a fumble, stalling San Francisco?s offense on three occasions. The Giants also limited Frank Gore, holding him to 11 rushing yards on eleven attempts. Rookie wide receiver Josh Morgan was the lone offensive star for the 49ers, catching five passes for 86 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Derrick Mason, who has established himself as Flacco?s favorite target, caught six balls for 87 yards and a trip to the end zone, as well. The Baltimore defense also clamped down on Miami?s dynamic offense, limiting Ronnie Brown for the first time since the Wildcat formation emerged in Miami. Chad Pennington went 24-for-35 with 295 yards and a touchdown, but he made one mistake too many with an interception in the second quarter as the Dolphins were charging near midfield. White accounted for three of the scores, with Johnson running for 168 yards on eighteen carries. Tennessee sacked Kansas City quarterbacks ? they used three ? on a trio of occasions. Tyler Thigpen had Kansas City?s lone touchdown, which came on a 14-yard run late in the fourth quarter. Damon Huard, Thigpen, and Brodie Croyle combined to go 23-for-37 with 235 passing yards. Kolby Smith and Jamaal Charles were limited to 37 rushing yards on thirteen carries. Tony Gonzalez had 97 receiving yards, and Dwayne Bowe added 86 for the Chiefs, who missed a pair of field goals but didn?t turn the ball over. Pittsburgh 38, Cincinnati 10 Team Trench Counter: Steelers +19.7, Bengals -19.7 The Pittsburgh Steelers (5-1) dominated the Cincinnati Bengals (0-7) early and often at Paul Brown Stadium on Sunday. Ben Roethlisberger went 17-for-28 with 216 yards and two touchdowns, and Byron Leftwich came on late in the fourth to add 34 yards and score on 3-for-3 passing. Mewelde Moore rushed for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns on twenty carries in the absence of Willie Parker, who missed his third-straight game with knee trouble. Pittsburgh?s defense racked up seven sacks and forced two turnovers. Ryan Fitzpatrick went 21-for-35 with 164 yards and a touchdown, a 5-yard strike to Chad Johnson in the second quarter. Cedric Benson led the Bengals on the ground with 52 yards on fourteen carries, as the Cincinnati offense looked pathetic for a majority of the afternoon. The winless Bengals never led, didn?t record a single sack and didn?t have an answer for Pittsburgh?s offensive attack. Chicago 48, Minnesota 41 Team Trench Counter: Bears +4.7, Vikings -4.7 The Chicago Bears (4-3) win a surprising shootout over the Minnesota Vikings (3-4) on Sunday at Solider Field. Kyle Orton went 21-for-32 with 283 yards and two touchdowns, while the Chicago defense provided plenty of points against an often-confused Minnesota team. Matt Forte had 56 yards and a score, while Garrett Wolfe (17-yard touchdown after a blocked punt) and Zack Bowman (fumble recovery in the end zone) added fourteen points on defense/special teams. Adrian Peterson dominated on the ground, but several miscues by Gus Frerotte put the Vikings in too deep of a hole against the Bears. Frerotte went 25-for-40 with 298 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions. One of those picks was a forced throw very late in the fourth quarter with Minnesota attempting to tie the score. Peterson had 121 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, and Chester Taylor added 34 yards and a score of his own in the loss. Both teams recorded two sacks, but Chicago won the turnover battle. Carolina 30, New Orleans 7 Team Trench Counter: Panthers +9, Saints -9 Jake Delhomme outplayed Drew Brees on Sunday as the Carolina Panthers (5-2) easily knocked off the New Orleans Saints (3-4). Delhomme went 14-for-22 with 195 yards and two touchdowns while Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams combined to control the ground game. Stewart had 68 rushing yards and a touchdown, and Williams added 70 total yards and a touchdown reception in the win. Steve Smith, the team?s unquestioned top target, had 6 catches for 122 yards and a score. Brees went 21-for-39 with 231 yards and an interception. Reggie Bush ran for 55 yards on nine carries before leaving the game with a knee injury that will require surgery. Buffalo 23, San Diego 14 Team Trench Counter: Bills +13.6, Chargers -13.6 The Buffalo Bills (5-1) defeated the San Diego Chargers (3-4) on Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium thanks to a strong performance from their defense. Trent Edwards, who missed time in Week Five with a concussion, bounced back after a bye week to go 25-for-30 with 261 yards and a touchdown. Marshawn Lynch rushed for 70 yards and a score of his own, and Lee Evans led the team in receiving with eight receptions for 89 yards and trip to the end zone. Buffalo sacked Rivers twice, intercepted him once, and picked up a pair of fumbles by the San Diego quarterback. Rivers went 22-for-29 with 208 yards, two touchdowns, and the aforementioned interception. He ended strong San Diego drives with fumbles in the second and fourth quarters that ultimately kept the team from challenging late in the game. LaDainian Tomlinson continued to struggle, rushing for 41 yards on fourteen carries. Vincent Jackson, who had four catches for 42 yards and a touchdown, ran for 31 yards on a single carry in the loss. The Chargers? defense wasn?t able to bother Edwards or the Bill?s offense, and they didn?t force a single turnover. Houston 28, Detroit 21 Team Trench Counter: Texans +0.5, Lions -0.5 The Houston Texans (2-4) jumped out to an early lead against the Detroit Lions (0-6) on Sunday and held off a late charge to win their second straight game. Matt Schaub went 26-for-31 with 267 yards and two touchdowns, with both of the scores coming on connections with tight end Owen Daniels. Rookie Steve Slaton rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown while Ahman Green added 62 yards and a score on the ground, as well. Andre Johnson caught eleven passes for 141 yards in the win, and the defense sacked Detroit?s Dan Orlovsky twice. After falling behind 21-0, the Lions battled back to within a touchdown but simply ran out of time at the end of the fourth quarter. Orlovsky, making just his second career start, went 12-for-25 with 265 yards and a touchdown, and rookie running back Kevin Smith added 61 rushing yards and a score in the loss. Calvin Johnson caught two passes from Orlovsky for 154 yards and a trip to the end zone with former teammate Roy Williams now playing in Dallas. Washington 14, Cleveland 11 Team Trench Counter: Redskins +6.9, Browns -6.9 The Washington Redskins (5-2) won a game against the Cleveland Browns (2-4) that was scoreless heading into the third quarter. Jason Campbell went 14-for-23 with 164 yards and a touchdown while Clinton Portis rushed for 175 yards and a score in the victory. Santana Moss, who caught four passes for 75 yards, hooked up with Campbell on an 18-yard strike that gave Washington a 14-3 lead early in the fourth quarter. Javon Walker caught five passes for 75 yards and touchdown, his first with the team. Brett Favre struggled, going 21-for-38 with 197 yards and two interceptions, but Thomas Jones kept the Jets in the game with 159 rushing yards on 24 attempts in the loss. Trailing 13-10 near the end of regulation, Favre led New York down the field and into position for Jay Feely to hit a game-tying field goal that forced overtime. Feely hit the 52-yarder with three seconds left on the clock, after missing his first attempt, which wasn?t counted after the Raiders called a timeout. Green Bay 34, Indianapolis 14 Team Trench Counter: Packers +12.9, Colts -12.9 The Green Bay Packers? (4-3) defense came alive on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts (3-3) en route to a 20-point victory. Aaron Rodgers went 21-for-28 with 186 yards and a touchdown while Ryan Grant added 105 yards and a score on the ground in the win. No Green Bay receiver had more than 37 yards as Rodgers shared the ball nicely among eight different men. Nick Collins returned an interception 62 yards in the third quarter for a touchdown, and Aaron Rouse brought back a 99-yarder in the fourth to put the game away. Peyton Manning went 21-for-42 with 229 yards and two interceptions in the loss, as the Indianapolis offensive line continued to struggle. With Joseph Addai out because of a hamstring injury, Dominic Rhodes ran for 73 yards and two touchdowns in defeat. Dallas Clark had eight receptions for 81 yards while Anthony Gonzalez hauled in five balls for 72 yards. Ironically, both had touchdowns called back with less than two minutes left after booth reviews. Tampa Bay 20, Seattle 10 Team Trench Counter: Buccaneers +11, Seahawks -11 Jeff Garcia was red-hot for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2) in their win over the Seattle Seahawks (1-5) on Sunday night. Garcia went 27-for-36 with 310 yards and a touchdown, as the Seattle defense spent a majority of the night on the field. Earnest Graham had 52 yards and a touchdown on the ground while Warrick Dunn added 37 in the win. Wide receiver Antonio Bryant caught six passes for 115 yards and a score, his second 100-yard game and his first touchdown of the season. Seneca Wallace, starting in place of the injured Matt Hasselbeck, looked confused for a majority of the game. He went 12-for-23 with 73 yards, one touchdown, and an interception. He also rushed for six yards on two attempts and lost a fumble. Considering Seattle's abysmal passing attack, Maurice Morris and Julius Jones did a decent job on the ground. They combined to rush for 96 yards in the loss. Rookie tight end John Carlson, the team's leading receiver on the season, was the recipient of Wallace's only touchdown pass. New England 41, Denver 7 Team Trench Counter: Patriots +23.7, Broncos -23.7 Jay Cutler appeared to injure his finger on the first play of the game, and the Denver Broncos (4-3) never got on track against the New England Patriots (4-2) in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Matt Cassel has his best game since taking over for Tom Brady in Week 1, going 18-for-24 with 185 yards and three touchdowns. The Patriots punished the Broncos on the ground as well, rushing for 257 yards in the win. Randy Moss also had his best performance of the season, catching five passes for 69 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Cutler struggled mightily, going 17-for-26 with 168 yards, one touchdowns and two interceptions. Whether it was because of his injured finger or New England's defense, it didn't matter in the end. Michael Pittman ran well, rushing for 88 yards on twenty carries, but two fumbles by backup Andre Hall doomed Denver's offense.
